Cwmcarn Primary School

A small Welsh school has been awarded this year’s Eden Award. The award is presented each year by Tim Smith, founder of the Eden Project to the team that best represents Eden’s values through their project.

The team from Cwmcarn worked with Year 6 pupils to create “Science Envoys” who worked with younger pupils to promote creative science at the school. The project built on very successful British Science Association CREST Star Investigators' Scheme extending the experiences of pupils and giving them the chance to share their experiences and understanding.

The Science Envoys were involved in a number of creative projects including planning science projects for Year 4 and 5 pupils in biology, physics and chemistry.

More information on the project can be found in the Finalist's Section.
