The Great Debate

Students and teachers from all of the participating schools attended a Debating Master Class at Prenton High. Deputy Head and PSRE teacher Chris Mann, together with Christine Murtagh modelled a series of debating techniques that enabled staff and students to debate difficult, controversial issues around the theme of Darwin and Evolution. Following on from this, students sat with their teacher to plan a lesson that would then be delivered back at their own school. The feedback from the event was very positive and we were very pleased that all the teachers attending said that they found the techniques very helpful and they would be using them back at their own school. This was an important part of the project for us, as this sharing of good practise would mean that many more students would benefit from the project and not just the cohort we worked with directly.

The sculptures and artwork were displayed for two weeks at the historic Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight. The curator for the gallery saw the work at View Two and was so impressed she was happy for it to be shown at Lady Lever. In fact the same time as the French Impressionist exhibition!!
