We are getting close to the end of our project, but since the beginning we have been thinking of and pursuing a legacy that would bring the work of our pupils not just beyond our LEA, but also beyond Wales. So, we have been in contact with Science Made Simple, a group affiliated to Cardiff University that presents lecture-shows to schools throughout Wales, U.K. and even overseas as far as Tokyo! After hearing what we've been up to they became interested in working with our pupils at their next show, as it turned out that its theme is "Spooks and Spies" (so very relevant to the play our pupils wrote)! So, they came up to our school and invited our yr 12 and some yr 11 pupils to a brainstorming session in which everybody shared their ideas about what their show should contain and how it should be delivered.
Science Made Simple said they found this session very useful and that many things that came up they hadn't thought about before, things like laser mazes and smoke machines and obviously our own laser pen...
We felt very privileged to work with Science Made Simple, especially because we know that the effort and creativity of our pupils will not be lost and forgotten and that aspects of our project will reach many schools around Wales and U.K., and hopefully even abroad!
