Overview

The School provides education for four specialist psychiatric units maintained by South London and Maudsley NHS Trust including both short and longer stay pupils.

The team will set up four outdoor study areas. At each site flora and fauna, soil, rocks, building materials, weather and lunar changes will be logged to show changes and link to work done by previous pupils. Nest boxes with cameras and badger-watching will also be included.

Judges’ comments

This is an unusual school group with many unique teaching challenges. The project shows good innovation in this type of school and is directly linked to the needs of pupils.
