Overview

This project will improve pupil’s ability to critically evaluate science reported in the media in year nine classes. Pupils will use current affairs to stimulate the development of science-based projects that will improve the whole school awareness of innovations in science.

Projects will be focussed on real science and pupils will develop methods of communicating current science topics across the school.

Judges’ comments

This idea fits in to a new core curriculum area. It allows good implementation across a range of subjects and could help develop an innovative style of teaching.
