Another fantastic month. We have received delivery and installed a sign which makes a permanent mark on our school and designates an area in the school especially for science. It boldly states ‘STEMM Project- Science Think, Enact, Meditate then Mediate’. Brilliant.
We have received our smart tops which designate year 6 as the STEMM team and (differently coloured) the year 5’s as the SALT team (‘Sort, Act, Learn, Talk’). Our STEMM and SALT teams have been busily helping younger children learn science with great effect.
Albeit delayed with the snow , we have learnt from A NUCLEAR SCIENTIST no less, who has made sense of a lot of stuff we took on last term about strange things to do with nuclear particles.
Our great friend Mike Hales, from Rolls-Royce Bristol, called in and helped launch the rockets project to great effect. Our rocketeers have been busily designing rocket things which hopefully will go up and then come down, as the saying goes, as part of the next big idea in our project.
Finally , we have received a valuable input from Alan Rowse, the head of technology at the University of Wales and recommended link from the STEM team there. After a fruitful meeting we have worked out a way forward for the interactive information points that involves no less than TWELVE STUDENT TEACHERS and appropriate interactive teams from our school.
The future is bright.
