The project first kicked off with team leader, Sarah Chard, visited Rolls Royce in Derby and attending the Awards Ceremony at the Science Museum. This was a very inspirational trips and set a very high standard for our project to aim for.
Much of October was spent preparing to launch the project by doing behind the scenes jobs such as ordering resources and liaising with Strodes College, to set up the adult learning , and with Surrey Family learning, to set up joint parent and child activities. The team working on the Science Prize project also met together to discuss the aims and immeadiate priorities in the project.
The good news about our schools’ selection as finalists was publicised in the Surrey Herald and a piece was also included in the school newsletter.

With a planned launch in November imminent work was done to prepare for sharing our plans with the children, staff and community. In addition to this the Creative Textiles Story Sack course was arranged and interest drummed up from the parents. 8 parents signed up to begin the course on November 5th.
