Mr. Rob Aspden - Masters degree in biological anthropology; this masters was a research Masters studying primates in captivity. Teacher of science with a specialism in biology. Having worked for a science centre before becoming a teacher has experience in running and organising science clubs and making them both educational and fun. Rob brings huge enthusiasm to the club. Working in a science college, Rob is keen to develop links with universities and research facilities to provide opportunities to school aged pupils in developing interests in science and other subjects.
Mr. Mike Hanson - Teacher of science with a specialism in chemistry/biology. As leader of environmental science in the school, is responsible for delivery of conservation and sustainability content at A Level. Mike is the leader of a lunchtime science club so has experience in delivering engaging and novel science and organising and managing a science club. He has extensive experience as a sound engineer so has experience in building unique equipment and construction.
Sue Williams - Teacher of maths. Sue has been running the STEM club this year and has gained valuable experience running the club and has formed strong relationships with this year’s members. As the maths teacher in the project Sue will be vital to deliver the statistic portion of the project. She also has broad knowledge of the “autograph” statistical package to be used in the school. She will be linking the complex statistics to the current knowledge of pupils relating this to the national curriculum content for statistics.
Katy Jefferson - Teacher of technology with a specialism in Resistant Materials, Design Technology. Vastly experienced in building large-scale devices and equipment for A level and GCSE classes. Katy is also a teacher in the construction department which provides all the essential skills of joinery, carpentry and large-scale fabrication. She has knowledge of CAD (computer-aided design) CAM (Computer-aided manufacture) which will enable the pupils to build an advanced and accurate device making it more robust and safe.
