Overview

To enhance Lower 6th Form psychology students experience of learning about "How Science Works" in psychological investigations lessons by working collaboratively with Upper 6th students and classroom teachers. Upper 6th psychology students will be collaborative action researchers with their teacher to investigate ways of improving the provision of research methods teaching in the Lower 6th whilst improving their own understanding of psychological research. They will create research tools to investigate attitudes and opinions of Lower 6th students to psychological investigations lessons, and will then work with teachers to plan a series of practical investigations that can be carried out with Lower 6th psychology classes. Measurement of attitudes and opinions will be repeated after these lessons, and the Upper 6th will analyse the results and evaluate the effectiveness of the action research project. The resources created for these investigations will be used to develop a toolkit for practical investigations which can be used by future year groups.
