Diary Entry - April

A short month in terms of days at school, but a month made large with ambition!

In the three days between the end of the Easter Holiday and the Royal Wedding, a special assembly was held to announce the winning design.  It was also an opportunity for children across the school to see the full range of prototype designs.

April 1With the end of the project in sight, the intention is to construct a full-size timber frame by the beginning of the summer holidays.  This will be in-filled with identical CD case panels – as per the winning design.  Children in Year Three (the class from which the winning design originated) will visit other classes to share the ‘secrets’ of their construction method with other children.  Then – in the week when the Rolls-Royce film team visit – we hope to be in full production across the school on CD case panels!

Brian Kocziban, our wonderful caretaker, will put up the timber frame (in the same shape as the children’s design) near to the newly dug vegetable bed, (formerly car park).  He has also made a wooden shelter in the Key Stage One garden.

But all this will have to wait until next month!
