St Michael's Roman Catholic School

This year's runner-up prize of £10,000 went to the team at St Michaels Roman Catholic School for their project exploring "Science teaching and industry" in the North East of England.

Pupils went on field trips to local industrial businesses to find out more about the application of science in the wider world outside of school. By investigating science in the workplace the team were able to both create a valuable resource for the new applied science GCSE, and inspire students into taking science further in their lives.
