Will support pupils with the science content of the video and planning and storyboarding the video.
Tina Semmens
Will act as liaison with the SLT.

Has extensive experience in set design and will be supporting pupils with the design of the set and the branding of the video.

Will support pupils with the practical aspects of the science video.
Clifford Reece
A multi-instrumentist who will support the pupils in the composition of the musical score that will accompany the video.
Jeremy Grigg
Has extensive experience of film-making and editing (formly head of media studies), will support pupils with the film production.
Topic area of proposal: Generic Issues - Procedural understanding
Briefly, the aim of our proposal is: (50 words)
Pupils will produce a laboratory safety video to be used to support the teaching of identify hazards and controlling risk. The pupils will write the script and a musical score to accompany the video. They will also perform and edit the content.

We have a strong commitment to year 7 students developing safe practice. We wish to develop:
We wish to build links with other subject areas, particularly the school’s music specialism.
In discussions with year 6 students it became evident that some of their apprehension about secondary school science was unfamiliar apparatus and the hazards that came with them. When looking for educational resources which showed safe practice we were unable to find any video resources. This is a resource which we will be using in the faculties science scheme of work.
Detailed description of our proposal: (300 words)
This is a cross-curicular project which focuses on a wide range of skills and develops them.
Pupils will be split in three groups based in three faculties: music, D&T and science talented pupils. They will work together to develop and film the project. Each group will be facilitated by a member of teaching staff, but led by pupils who will decide on their roles.
This project will run each year, with the previous year’s students acting as advisors to the incoming year 7s.
